Sherida Morrison Santiago is a distinguished business professor and organization development practitioner whose work bridges academia, community engagement, and transformational leadership. A native of Baltimore, she combines deep local insight with a broad global perspective, bringing more than two decades of experience across the nonprofit, public, and private sectors to her teaching, scholarship, and service.
At Coppin State University’s College of Business, Santiago is committed to cultivating the next generation of inclusive, adaptive, and values-driven leaders. She consistently reimagines academic programs, forges strategic partnerships, and leads initiatives designed to expand access and opportunity for underrepresented communities. At the same time, she remains focused on the principles that undergird organizational success: aligning people, systems, and purpose to achieve measurable, lasting change.
Her professional signature lies in her capacity to make complex systems and challenges both accessible and actionable. Santiago’s core areas of expertise include process evaluation, organizational restructuring, individual and group coaching, perspective reframing, and whole-systems strategy. She believes that people are an organization’s greatest asset and that systems built to empower individuals unleash extraordinary impact.
Beyond classroom instruction, Santiago extends her leadership influence through multiple channels. She has designed and facilitated corporate retreats, conducted stakeholder workshops, coached emerging leaders, and guided community dialogues. She also hosts the podcast Ignite180, which centers on personal leadership, character formation, and practical transformation. In all her endeavors, her mission is clear: to empower individuals, strengthen communities, and help institutions unlock collective potential.
Santiago is currently pursuing a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) in Management and Organization at the University of Maryland, Robert H. Smith School of Business. She previously earned a Master of Science in Organization Development (MSOD) from American University, a Master of Science in Business and Entertainment from Full Sail University, and a Bachelor of Science in Social Science from Coppin State University.
Among her professional contributions, she has served on advisory boards for various organizations, contributed to diversity and inclusion efforts, and advanced workforce development in the Baltimore metropolitan area. She has been honored with both a Governor’s Citation and a Service Award from the Maryland General Assembly, recognizing her sustained community impact.
As a scholar, practitioner, and mentor, Santiago remains forward-focused: exploring how leadership must evolve in times of complexity, cultivating adaptive mindsets, and helping individuals and institutions thrive in rapidly changing environments. Her vision is that leadership is less about titles and more about influence, continuous growth, and creating spaces where others can flourish.
